A Podengo can do all kinds of things. Consider Spanky the Wonder Dog, one of the first Pequenos in the USA.
Spanky is an amazingly versatile Wirehair Portuguese Podengo Pequeno and shows what a Podengo can do with proper training, love and guidance. Here are some of his wins:
(1) Became a Rarieties Champion in 2005 and was rated as one of their Top Dogs of 2006.
(2) Earned his Canine Good Citizen Certificate from AKC.
(3) Is a licensed therapy dog with Therapy Dog International.
(4) Is a United Companion Dog by UKC.
(5) Is a UCDX Winner - Became a UKC titled Obedience Winner in 2006.
(6) Two-time winner of the Silly Pet Tricks contest hosted by the Orlando Dog Fair in Florida.
