> About PPPCA > Application for Breeder ReferralApplication for Breeder ReferralThis application must be submitted annually for approval by the PPPCA Board of Directors for breeder referral privileges. The application must be accompanied by supporting documentation and a signed copy of the PPPCA Code of Ethics. In addition to the requirements contained in the PPPCA Code of Ethics, Listed Breeders must agree to certain health checks listed below, to assist the PPPCA in vetting common buyer/member prospects, and to use a purchase contract with certain minimum elements listed below.

In separate attachments:
1. Please describe the environment where you keep your Podengos.
2. Please list the names and AKC-FSS numbers of your Podengos.
3. Please list the names of current PPPCA members to whom you have sold Podengos.
The PPPCA requires the following health checks on all of your breeding stock:
Check for luxating patella via palpation by vet annually, list with OFA at two years of age.
Registered CERF eye check for all breeding stock within 12 months before breeding.
OFA xray for hips with passing score of fair or above for all breeding stock after 2 years of age.
Preliminary OFA xray for hips with passing score of fair or above for all breeding stock used before 2 years of age.
Please attach copies of current tests for all of your breeding stock. If you have not yet completed some of the tests, you must commit to do so in the next 12 months. Breeders who do not show proof of the completed tests on their breeding stock at the time of next year's application will be removed from the referral list.
The PPPCA requires that you provide a contract with each puppy that is sold or given away, to include at least the following information:
AKC-FSS recorded number and name of puppy being sold
Name and AKC-FSS recorded number of sire and dam
Description of puppy: date of birth, gender, color, markings, potential for show/breeding or companion/not for breeding
Neutering clause if applicable
Breeder right of first option to buy/get back the dog if the new owner cannot keep it
Any other important information that the sale is based on including microchipping or tattooing
Name, address, telephone and email of both buyer(s) and seller(s)
Please attach a blank copy of the contract form that you use.
