"Manny" was awarded Rarities Champion
Chicharro de Viamonte "Manny" was awarded his Rarities Championship on July 17, 2003 in Bethany, Connecticut at the Airport Classic Show. Manny, the first Portuguese Podengo to achieve Champion status in Rarities, is shown here with Judge Jennings awarding the blue ribbon and owner Marilyn Piurek.

Robert Phillips' Podengos
Making History: Robert Phillips handles his Smooth Coat Podengo Pequeno, Portia do Vale de Linhos in the Rarities Show held August 30, 2003 in Lumberton, New Jersey.
Portia won Best Puppy in Show and has the distinction of being the first smooth coat female to ever be shown in the United States.
At the same show, Amalia de Porto Novo, a wire hair Pequeno, became the first American-born Podengo to ever win Best of Breed and to place well (#2 & #4) in the largest Primitive Group in Rarities history. |

Quest wins first place, ARBA champion
Quest is a smooth coated Medio who was born in Portugal at the Monte dos Podengos Kennel of M. Antonieta Rodriguez.
