We are proud of the many fine Portuguese Podengos achieving their Champion status in the United States. Chicharro de Viamonte, of Porto Novo Kennel, was the first Podengo in the United States to become an American Champion, recorded at the American Rare Breed Association on January 24, 2002 as an ARBA A1 Champion of Beauty. The following lists Portuguese Podengos achieving their Champion titles in the United States.
Since January 1, 2008, Portuguese Podengos have been eligible to participate in AKC Companion Events and title holders are listed here - this page is constantly under construction -- more to come!
